Russell
The Christ Church, built in 1836, is the oldest church of New Zealand. There are bullet holes in the walls still remaining from the battles between the Māori and the Brits. On the cemetery in front of the church old graveyards put ones mind of here resting Māoris, early settlers, whale catchers and sailors.
